A day before Sohoku High School Cycling Club's inter-high school competition, club president Kinjou asks Makishima, a highschool senior, to "play nice" with the first-year student and climber Sakamichi Onoda saying that they are both climbers on the same team. Makishima tries to talk to Onoda in the club room, but ends up intimidating him. When he asks Onoda about the anime capsule toy he has, Onoda begins to talk his ear off with nerdy talk, causing Makishima to be put off by Onoda's incessant and cheerful jabber. Training starts after that, but Onoda looks sad...?
