Kyoko lives a desolate life, without being able to trust anyone or anything in the world. She meets Katsuya Honda, who is newly appointed as a trainee teacher. He is superficially polite but actually rude, and he toys with her with his peculiar mannerisms. But she's gradually drawn to him. An incident with bad friends causes her parents to disown her. Kyoko feels that this is her punishment for doing as she pleased up to this point. While Kyoko is reflecting on all of this, Katsuya appears in front of her....
