Ran, Sonoko, Kogoro, and Shinichi land in Singapore to support Makoto Kyogoku, who is participating in the karate tournament. However, Shinichi is actually Kid in disguise. He puts Conan to sleep, and smuggles him into the country in a suitcase. With Conan's only way of returning home in Kid's control, he reluctantly pretends to be a local boy named "Arthur Hirai" and teams up with Ran and the others. Together with Kid, Conan confronts the tremendous conspiracy surrounding the prize of the tournament, a sapphire called "Fist of Blue Sapphire".
